Overview

For Nepalis, Kathmandu is a mood, a memory, and a familiar chaos that somehow always feels like home. Nestled in a valley surrounded by green hills, our capital city blends ancient heritage with the everyday rhythm of modern life in a way few cities can.

It is also where many of us live - and there are a plethora of activities for pilgrims, families, and those seeking to immerse themselves in nature or culture. You might live in this beloved city, or have visited countless times—for exams, medical trips, or family errands—but seen through a slower, more intentional lens, the city reveals layers you may have missed.

We all know the important spots: Kathmandu Durbar Square, where centuries-old palaces and temples whisper stories of the Malla kings, Pashupatinath Temple draws devotees and visitors alike, and Boudhanath Stupa that invites quiet reflection amid the hum of prayer wheels and incense. It is a vibrant city. Wander through Thamel and you’ll find everything from cozy cafés and live music to trekking gear shops and global cuisine. For a more local vibe, areas like Patan and Bhaktapur (just a short ride away) offer beautifully preserved courtyards, traditional Newari food, and a slower pace of life.

Food is a highlight for Nepali visitors—with an array of national and international flavors. From classic momo joints, an array of Thakali restaurants, to cuisines from all around the world, Kathmandu lets you taste both nostalgia and novelty, depending on your mood.

Despite its traffic and dust (which every Nepali will knowingly smile about), Kathmandu offers a ton of activities for those who live here, as well as those who are visiting. Whether it is short treks on the outskirts of the city, a quick trip to the hill stations of Nagarkot and Dhulikhel, or water parks for the whole family,  Kathmandu offers something for everyone in your family.

What are the advantages of booking with you?

Most likely, yes. We offer a variety of customizable experiences, and we can also tailor trips based on your interests. If you have something specific in mind, we can usually arrange it or guide you to the best option. Please Get in Touch.

What is the best time to visit?

If you are visiting Kathmandu, you will know that it is a year-round destination, but the best times are:

Spring (March–May): Clear skies, blooming flowers, great for hikes and mountain views

Autumn (September–November): Fresh air after monsoon, excellent visibility, festive atmosphere

Winter (December–February) is quieter and cooler—ideal if you prefer fewer crowds. Monsoon (June–August) brings lush greenery but also rain and travel delays.
